I am sure we have all met someone or walked past someone who was glowing, a sense of liveliness, and you instantly feel drawn to them? This person seems as if they have abundance of energy.

So what is their secret? This is why circulation is important if you want to look glowing and embody a sense of wholesomeness. The better your circulation, the more oxygen will be in your body, the more oxygen available in your body. Circulation ensures that nutrients flow throughout your entire body, think about every hair follicle to all 10 toes receiving oxygen. The more oxygen available in your body, the more you energized you will feel, which will make you radiate a sense of liveness, which then will make you glow. “Girl, your sparkles are sparkling”.

I think it’s safe to say that most of us would probably respond to this blog title as “why would you focus on boosting circulation?”. Usually, we think about the cardiovascular system in terms of a healthy heart, in this blog post we draw attention to the cardiovascular system for beauty benefits.

We need circulation because it removes all of the waste that builds up in our systems. If there are build ups in your circulatory system, nutrients and oxygen become blocked, which means that parts of your body like nails and skin will suffer from it.

Boost Circulation for Skin Health

Here are a few tips for boosting circulation

  • Stay hydrated: When you are dehydrated the heart will struggle to move blood through your system.
  • Move your body: Your heart is a muscle which also needs to work to be healthy, which will pump blood more efficiently. Try exercising at least 3 times a week.
  • Exfoliate: Remember to use a scrub that won’t be too harsh on your skin.

Foods to boost circulation:

Please keep in mind that if you eat an avocado, your skin will not be smooth and soft the following day, incorporate these foods into your diet and give your body time.

  1. I know it sounds so cliche’ “warm lemon water”, citrus fruits, such as lemon or grapefruit have cleansing properties which will help to flush out the system.
  2. Omega 3 fatty acids, (salmon, flaxseed, chia seeds, spinach) help to increase blood circulation
  3. Blueberries, strawberries, and grapes help to protect your blood vessels.
  4. Warming spices (cayenne pepper of ginger, basically I’m encouraging you to indulge in curry). These spices help to clear congestion and boost your metabolism.
  5. Garlic, and who does not love garlic bread? so why should you eat garlic you will smell yourself the entire day? Garlic is a natural blood thinner which will increase your blood flow.

Here is a recipe I found online to boost circulation:

  • 350 ml coconut water
  • 1 banana
  • 1 tbsp bee pollen
  • 1 tbsp chia gel (chia seeds soaked ofr 30min in water)

Blend all the ingredients together and enjoy!
